§ Piece
Union wallet in cherry.
Late run of the Union in American black cherry. The grain ages to a deeper red over the first six months.
Every union was finished in a tung oil and beeswax blend, hand sanded through four grits and rubbed with a soft cloth until the timber would not take any more oil. The interior elastic was sourced from a Sydney saddler and replaced once per run.
Build notes
- Hand cut on the bench from a single board, grain matched left to right.
- Sanded through 120, 220, 320 and 400 grit before finishing.
- Three coats of food safe tung oil over twenty four hours, beeswax buff on the fourth day.
- Interior lining stitched in waxed cotton by a Sydney saddler.
Notes from the workshop
This piece is archived. We are not running new batches. If you own one, the oil and beeswax finish note covers re-oiling.
